I find that there is something refreshing about sitting down with good friends and enjoying a painting session. It brings me back to days when time for this was more available. Especially on a rainy day, it provides a fun indoor activity!
My most recent experience was in a cozy ceramic shop in Long Beach, California. Before we knew it 2 hours had passed and in our hands were our lovely creations ready to be fired.
A hobby like this is one of life's simple pleasures for me. It allows me to slow down from the hustle and bustle and have a quiet moment to just be.
This Fall, I am definitely looking forward to the simple pleasures this season brings.

I think my favorite seasonal activities are anything that have to do with creativity. I find painting, drawing, and ceramics to be so incredibly beautiful. I don't believe there is a wrong way to do any of them. With each stroke and design of color and touch, beauty, creativeness and life comes through.
I also truly enjoy make-up as an activity. I don't like it in a provocative way, but a way that a woman can describe who she is on the inside, through a 'painting' on her face. I love to do friends make-up, and am always asking, so that I can 'paint' their personality onto their face. I find that they love the way they look in the end, and enjoy making them feel beautiful for who they are.
Another seasonal activity I love is going to the smaller towns through states and attending their festivals, such as their Strawberry Festival, or Halloween Festival, things like that. It's so fun to be around them, especially in small towns because the people are so welcoming and friendly. Whatever the season is, the festivals are always a joy to attend. And then afterwards, editing and printing out all of the pictures I took, and scrapbooking them!
