Hustlers in New York

newyorkhustlerBLOG

Being married to a Motivational Speaker/Life Coach I've had the chance to do a lot of traveling. The best thing about it is getting to meet so many people from all over the world. Every week brings new cities and new faces.

One of our latest ventures brought us to the East Coast in New York - I absolutely love the vibe and people of this city. I overheard people using the term 'hustling' to describe their life in New York, as there definitely is a fast pace to the city! Hustling in the native tongue of this East Coast city basically means being driven and getting whatever needs to be done, done. Now I believe in a balanced life but there are seasons in our lives where we can run and be busy for a purpose/goal. I was inspired by the New Yorkers drive & passion.

On the other hand, I have met people on the opposing end, who need a lot of motivation to get things done, they would be considered- procrastinators. Procrastinators are people who are slow to get going on in life to build a better future; whether that's putting in effort to better relationships or simply taking action and running with their dreams.

New York is a great place to get inspired to take action and move right away. There is so much going on in the Big Apple, as people are busy with a purpose. I understand the New York song by Jay-Z and Alicia Keys better now that I have seen and experienced the concrete jungle myself. The song speaks truth in the lyric describing the city as a place "where dreams are made of". New York is a big City with a lot of hustle and bustle, people are growing business' and working their dreams actively. It's a great place to get inspired by being in an atmosphere of momentum.

If you can't make it to New York, find a place to visit filled with productivity and movement, that will inspire you towards your goals. Are you trying to improve your relationships?, trying to get in shape?, or are you maybe trying to learn a new skill? Whatever it is, ask yourself why you are putting it off. Try until you succeed, even if you stumble along the way, don't give up! The people who procrastinate and make excuses never go anywhere, they are just bystanders, watching others reach their goals. Are you putting off your dreams and goals simply because you're procrastinating and making excuses? You can make goals and live your dreams out, maybe it's time to be a hustler and make a move.
