2010 Vancouver Olympics almost HERE!

The 2010 Winter Olympics begin in Vancouver/Whistler in two days!

We will have special feature Olympic articles up soon, written by columnist Trisha Evelyn.  The column will be based on 'fashion in the streets' during the winter games.

More updates to come, but that's all for now.  I will leave you with a fun true story to read.

Driving through the neighbourhood yesterday, after an airport pick up, I turned a 'usual' corner and started to notice unusual gatherings of pedestrians.  The crowd became louder, larger and thicker.

"What are all these people doing on the street?", I thought to myself as my passenger burst into laughter.

Suddenly I realized that I had made my way in to an Olympic parade.  Literally IN it!

I was driving my car in the parade line up along with floats, torch bearers and police escorts.

The streets were lined with thousands of people who were waving flags, cheering and taking photos.  I had no idea how I got in the parade and there was no way out with all the people.

After being asked several times what sport we compete in, I answered "swimming".

Being unplanned and 'stuck' in it for half an hour, we just had to go with the flow, cheer and wave back to the crowd.

By the end, my passenger and I definitely had sore stomaches from laughter; it was one of those special, unforgettable experiences!
