THE TONGUE IS A FIRE

What are you saying? I mean, really???? What kind of trash is coming out of your mouth? The Bible teaches us that whatever is in your heart comes out of your mouth. Uh hello?....I said The Bible, NOT The Secret. The Secret is just a rip-off of age-old truth. Law of attraction is just a counterfeit of the Universal Law of sowing and reaping. You cannot harvest what you did not plant.
Life and death are in what you say. It's not what goes into your mouth that defiles you, its what comes out of your mouth. What are you saying? I'm tired. I'm gonna get the flu. I'm so fat. My life is a wreck. I can't find a good man/friend/job. I knew my car wouldn't start. Nothing good ever happens to me. I can't lose weight. My kids won't behave. My husband does nothing to help me. I can't get past this. I'm always broke.....You get the point. We are all guilty.
I want to debunk the new age myth. What are you saying? The tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity, it defiles the whole body and sets on fire the course of nature....James 3:6 So you think what you say doesn't matter? You say, I don't believe that new age stuff. You can start a fire with what you say. Keep your mouth and keep your life...Proverbs 13:3 Start saying good things and watch what happens. The tongue of the wise promotes health. Do you want to be healthy? Begin saying wise things. A wholesome tongue is a tree of life. What does a tree do? It gives off life-giving oxygen. It produces fruit that feeds all kinds of creatures. It brings shade in times of heat. It is a resting place to lean on for a weary back. Do you want to be a tree in the lives of those around you? There is power in your words. God spoke this entire world into existence and we are created in His image. Our words have the power of our creator behind them; the power to heal, build up and bring life to dry bones.
On the contrary, our words can bring death. Killing our hopes, dreams, even crushing the spirits of those around us. They can defile. We are instructed to not let any unwholesome talk come out of our mouth, speaking only what is useful for building others up according to their needs, that all that hear you may benefit from what you say.
We all have different needs. Some need to hear a simple, I love you. Others need to know they are valuable or that we think they are creative, intelligent, beautiful, honest, hardworking, inspiring....So be careful.......What you speak about, you bring about.
